Beach Time
We do love summer as this is not only a great time to enjoy sun, water and vacation but also use it to expand our kids Russian vocabulary.
Math
This is exactly what we did last week. We started with 5 words (очки, ласты, панама, ракушки, мороженое), practiced new words throughout different activities and games. We are always trying to make learning fun for our little ones so Beach topic was deeply connected with simple math exercises (patterns, counting, +/-, etc). We couldn't finish the class without the craft work so we did some shell painting :-)
Russian
"Kurochka Ryaba " for the Story time, funny "Know Your Face" song and activity were combine with some individual tasks. We introduced a new letter - M - and practiced reading using the letters we've learnt so far (АОУСМ). We also learnt the writing of probability most important words in life - MAMA :-)
PARENTS' TIP OF THE WEEK
Whenever you are outside, by the pool, river, sand, at the backyard - play a game with your little one trying to see who can name most of the things around you... in Russian!! Help the child if he/she is struggling or simply doesn't know the word, let him/her repeat after you.
