Spooky (?) Class..
We don’t take Halloween for granted, even though it’s not a Slavic holiday at all! We spiced todays class with cupcakes and costumes and had a lot of fun...while learning of course :-)
Math
Today’s color was Green, we practiced it together with building patterns and individual assignments. We also ran, jumped and built magic gates from the blocks which helped us with further developing cognitive skills.
Russian
We started with our own version of Masha I Medved story where everybody got a role to play. It was fun and also helped us to become better listeners. We built letters Х/Ш from the play dough so we remember the small part of alphabet we learnt. And as a reward for an amazing job we finished with a short film to practice vocabulary on “Face” topic
Tip For Parents - Adopt a strategy!
How will you use the two languages within your family? Two common strategies are
the “one person, one language” approach (where each parent speaks his or her mother tongue) and
the “minority language at home” approach (where both parents use the minority language at home and the majority language is acquired from the community).
Whatever strategy you choose, the important thing is making sure that the child has a natural need to use the minority language and receives sufficient daily input in that language. The family should then stick consistently to its strategy, unless a change in circumstance warrants a change in approach
