More or Less?

With a new academic year and new additions to our KAKA family ( welcome Nikolai, Sofia and Katrina!) we continue expanding vocabulary, practicing math skills as well as learning Russian language.

Math

The color of the day was - brown. We played a few games and did individual assignments to remember, being able to recognize and vocally repeat the word and word combinations using colors. We also start learning values such as heavy-light, more or less, etc.

The piece of paper with the alligator craft the kids brought home was the way for us to learn the math value of “more” :-)

Russian

Letters А-О-С-М, writing practice together with draw-a-picture-tell-a-story activities to remember the letters and practice oral skills (simple basic and advanced for older kids)

Tip for Parents: Seize each day!

A child’s bilingual development is a long-term process, but it’s a process that can only be advanced bit by bit, day by day, through regular habits and routines. Thus, the idea of “seizing each day”—taking action day in and day out—is at the very heart of this challenge. Strive to be mindful of your long-range goal and commit to doing your honest best, each day, to move forward another few small steps. Remember that the majority language will continue its relentless development, so you must be as consistent as you can, as persistent as possible, when it comes to providing minority language support.
